As their new feature — Site Stats — emerges out of Beta, BusinessPOV caught up with Eric Olson, who specializes in helping bloggers and publishers understand — and make money off of — their audiences. Olson also discussed “Site Ads,” a year-old service that places CPM-based advertising on sites using FeedBurner.
When the company bought BlogBeat in July 2006, it gave them a way to start incorporating site analytics into their services, which already include feed stats. The new offering now gives publishers information on new vs. returning visitors, volume of traffic from inbound links and popularity of outbound links.
