Last Thursday, February 15, the winners of Design Within Reach's 3rd annual "Chicago Furniture Now" competition were showcased in the store on North Ave. and Kingbury. Twenty designers were chosen out about 175 entrants. Here we feature a look at half of them. Part II tomorrow.

The competition is designed to support new, innovative furniture designs by emerging Chicago designers. A panel of judges was made up of respected professionals in architecture, art, design and fashion.
