Rookie Cold-Callers Try Their Hand at Phone Sales

Selling yourself is a crucial aspect of starting a business. So what are some key pointers? Two successful cold callers from Aquirent, including the company’s CEO, Pete Kadens, impart their wisdom. This week, BusinessPOV will be showing highlights from an event held on February 17 called “Sales for Success,” put on by the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago GSB. In today's segment, attendees try their hand in mock cold-calling sessions and get advice from experts in the process.

We will also be running segments later in the week on the Q&A that took place regarding overall sales strategies.

About "Sales for Success: A Polsky Center Conference"

This one-day introduction to the "science of selling" was designed to arm attendees with the tools to generate sales. The event examined the overall sales process to find leads, build a business pipeline, target profitable customers, develop a sales pitch, help you get your foot in the door, and close the deal. In addition to Mr. Kadens, expert panelists during the course of the day included:

Eoin Callery, Co-Owner, Reserve Club
Robert Blumenschein, VP of Marketing and Sales, Lexington Steel Corp.
Patricia Henderson, CEO, Cygany
Al Wasserberg, CEO, Intellext
