BARcamp: 48 Hours of Kegs, Code, Web Monkies and Idea-swapping

Barcamp. The late-night powwow featuring start-ups of all stages, code jockies, entrepreneurs and venture capitalists was "organized" by Jason Rexilius. We stopped by for a look.

This encore presentation of last year's Barcamp festitivies is designed to give viewers a preview of this year's event, which begins Aug. 15 at the UIC Innovation Center, at 1240 W. Harrison.

What is Barcamp?

A BARcamp is an ad-hoc gathering born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. The name BARcamp was inspired as a complement to FOOcamp, a private tech gathering run by Tim OReilly.

This segment originally appeared on June 29, 2007.
