A New Spin on a Search Engine: Riya Uses Visual Cues Instead of Keywords

Riya is an image search engine that determines similarity of image content through analysis of color, shape and texture. Company reps gave us a spin at Leo Burnett's Digital Day in July.

The company's technology looks inside the image, not only at the text around it. You can use the search engine to find similar faces and objects on many images across the web or refine the results, using color, shape and texture.

From the company:

"We believe the time has come to truly make photos searchable, to let people say I want "more like this" and get what they want, and to eventually allow every public photo in the world to be found."
