Out of the Banking Mess Comes a Business Opportunity for Aleri

The company specializes in "complex event processing" technology that allows high-speed real-time analysis of data. Aleri won the ITA’s "Rising Star" award. Here, CEO Don DeLoach explains the company's expanding prospects.

Aleri, Inc. received the "Rising Star" Award at the 2009 ITA CityLIGHTS ceremony held at Chicago's Union Station on April 23, 2009. The category recognized the "company that has emerged from its start-up phase to distinguish itself in the technology marketplace." Other contenders included Geckotech, InXpo, MediaBank and Open Kernal Labs.

Company History Aleri is a privately held software company based in Chicago with major locations in New York, New Jersey, London and Mountain View, California. Aleri is focused on providing tools and solutions that deliver Continuous Intelligence™ - allowing businesses to make better decisions through more timely insight and respond quickly to changing conditions. The centerpiece of this effort is Aleri’s Complex Event Processing (CEP) technology, designed for high speed real-time analysis of data streams, with tools for rapid application development and deployment. Aleri offers a range of solutions to common business problems, with CEP at the core of all solutions. In March of 2008, Aleri merged with Coral8, another leading provider of CEP technology. The Coral8 CEP technology was first released in November 2005 and the Aleri CEP technology was first released in March 2006.

Don DeLoach, President and CEO, has been with Aleri since 2002. He was formerly President and CEO of YOUcentric, a leading provider of enterprise Customer Relationship Management software, until November 2001 when YOUcentric was acquired by J.D. Edwards. During his tenure, YOUcentric raised significant venture capital and substantially grew their revenue and customer base. Prior to YOUcentric, Don spent five years at Sybase, a provider of database, middleware, and development tools, most recently as the Vice President for North American Geographic Sales, Telesales, Channel Sales, and Marketing. Prior to Sybase, Don held various management and sales positions with Prime Computer, Bull Information Systems, and Hitachi Data Systems. He is a graduate of Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering.
