Mayor Daley recently said that "Chicago is emerging as the next fashion capital." Amidst strutting models, Marsha Brenner of the Apparel Industry Board and several designers at the "Chicago is . . . Red Hot!!!" fashion show chimed in on the marketplace — and the mighty Mayor's proclamation.

The show, which took place Sept. 28 at Millennium Park's Chase Promenade North, featured 50 local designers showing everything from sportswear to jewelry.
