For the past five years, the Chicago Innovation Awards has recognized pioneers in the field of new products, technologies and business approaches. The 10 segments BusinessPOV is presenting were recorded for the awards ceremony on October 30, 2006. Featured in this installment giving 30-second overviews of their companies are Sara Lee, the Community Energy Cooperative, USG Corp, Motorola and LoggerHead Tools. (Part 1 ran Nov. 13)
Chicago-based consulting firm Kuczmarski & Associates and the Chicago Sun-Times created the Awards in 2002 and oversee the nomination and judging processes. Nominees were judged based on the success of products and services introduced between January 2005 and May 2006 that uniquely satisfied unmet needs in the marketplace.
