Motorola has been on a retail tear, everything from a pop-up store in Chicago to flagship locations in Moscow and Shanghai. Luiz Andrade is responsible for ensuring that far-flung retail environments meet the company's aesthetic standards, and he discusses his experiences crafting the Moto brand image at home and abroad.
Luiz Andrade is manager and creative director of Motorola’s Global Image Design Team. In his current role he is responsible for brand design strategy, packaging, retail environments/experience, photography, POS, collateral and identity maintenance. He works with senior managers and engineers to find opportunities where design can make Motorola more competitive and efficient, reducing costs in operational levels as well as aggregating value through brand alignment.
The speaking event was held at the Alliance Francaise and was part of AIGA Chicago's "Business of Design" series. (AIGA is the national association for professional designers). Joseph Michael Essex moderated the discussion.
