Eva Maddox, a principal at the architecture firm Perkins + Will, is an expert at creating interiors that are direct extensions of a company's brand. It's about more than aesthetics though: an enhanced visual statement means higher employee satisfaction and stronger differentiation in the marketplace. Clients have included Hallmark, Dupont, Haworth and Tootsie Roll.
Maddox believes that by articulating a client's "DNA" into the physical environment can lead to increased sales, improved brand communications and higher perceived value from investors. Internally, benefits include higher employee satisfaction and retention and better understanding of an organization's mission, vision and values.
Maddox was named by Fast Company as one of the "change agents... designers, and dreamers who are creating your future." She is the recipient of more than 80 awards for design excellence and garnered the Chicago Magazine 2002 Chicagoan of the Year award and the 2000 Star Award from the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). She has been inducted into the Interior Design Hall of Fame. Eva is also co-founder of Archeworks, a non-profit alternative design school in Chicago.
